Fat Jimmy's Resort Boracay

Being right in the middle of the main attractions was handy, and the room had plenty of space, four big pillows, a fridge, nightstand, shelf, and wall hangers. I also liked the balcony outside the other room, with its table and two chairs, where you can wash and hang clothes. The room was bright, with two large windows in the main room. Staff were friendly, and although there's no elevator, my first-floor room was easy to reach. The bed was twin size. The sliding door wasn't very smooth, but that was a small issue. The bigger problem was the garbage collection spot directly in front of my room. The smell made coming back unpleasant throughout the stay. Also, the curtains didn't cover the full glass door, so morning light came in around 6 AM. It didn't bother me too much, though.

For three nights I stayed in the clean, fairly spacious female dorm with four beds. The bathroom and toilet were inside the room, and since I only had a roommate on my first night, it felt almost like having a private room. The accommodation was affordable and right in the heart of Boracay. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Come hungry, because the portions are generous and the food has big, bold flavors. I was really impressed by what I ate at Fat Jimmy's. The place has a fun, lively atmosphere with a laid-back feel, and the staff were attentive and friendly. I’d recommend it for breakfast and a good time. It can get crowded on weekends, so plan for that, but it's still worth a visit. Solid 4 stars from me.

I paid 4,500 pesos extra to upgrade because the standard room had no TV. On my one-week Boracay vacation booked through Agoda, the room smelled like old clothes, there was a spider in the cr by the shower faucet, and the noisy aircon couldn't cool the room. I could also hear nearby rooms. There was no WIFI in the room, and outside the signal was very slow. The entrance was by the garbage collection area. The older woman at the hotel seemed polite at first. When I asked about the nearest grocery, she said it was close by. I then asked whether it was barato, the Visayan word for budget friendly, and she told me where the cheaper store was. Once I left, I heard her speaking in Bisaya, saying I was looking for a cheaper store and couldn't upgrade a room with a TV. I hope her attitude changes. This was a waste of money.
