Henann Prime Beach Resort

I spent four days here on my first solo trip and had no regrets about choosing this hotel. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and I never felt alone during my stay. The room and amenities were clean, and the food was good. I’ll definitely come back!

Breakfast was the best I’ve ever had at a hotel: a buffet with loads of options and pretty good quality. We ordered room service and drinks fairly often, and they were always fairly prompt. Beach access was easy, and while D-mall is a bit of a walk, that distance made the resort calmer and less caught up in the action. We had a poolside room across the road from the beach, so it was quiet and relaxing on our side. If you want to sleep in, avoid a first-floor room on the beach side. That’s where everyone walks to get to breakfast and the beach, so there’s a lot of foot traffic, especially in the morning. One frustrating checkout issue was being told during the room check that a towel or bathmat was missing and we’d be charged. We hadn’t done anything with a bathmat, so it was confusing and delayed checkout. I don’t think we ended up paying. The hotel airport transfer involved four or five different groups handling us and our bags, from the airport to the transfer building, boat, van, and hotel. Each group made a point of how “heavy” our luggage was, seemingly to get tips. Tipping is a courtesy, but we were shooed away when we tried to carry our own bags, and it felt awkward to tip several people in quick succession. It would be easier and less uncomfortable if there were a way to tip everyone in one larger contribution.

One of the good hotels in Station 1. My only complaint is that there are so few beach chairs for the hundreds of guests. I know it’s because of the bylaw, so it’s not the hotel’s fault, but it can be frustrating when there isn’t a chair available. We stayed six days and only got one once.

The staff were nice and always greeted us, and the front desk responded quickly when we called about a neighbor making noise and drinking on their balcony at midnight. It took about 15 minutes to resolve, and we appreciated that. The beach beds are nice, but often had towels on them without anyone there. I hope they set a firm policy so everyone can use them. We stayed during lunar new year week, and neither the hotel nor beach seemed too crowded. The resort was quiet, which seemed ideal for remote work, but the internet was poor. As remote workers, we found the WiFi very slow. It took about 15-20 minutes to load a 10mb PDF. I hope management upgrades the speed, since that could attract more remote workers. We had a comfortable stay and would come back if we visit Boracay again, but not while working remotely.
