Lugar Bonito Hotel Boracay

I chose Lugar Bonito for my first Boracay trip as a solo traveler, thanks to a close friend’s recommendation. I was excited but a bit nervous, and ended up having a wonderful, comfortable stay. The hotel is in Station 1, just a short walk from the beach, with good restaurants right across the road. The staff were so helpful and made me feel at home. My room was clean and smelled fresh, and everything I needed worked: hot water, fast Wi-Fi, cable TV, power outlets, and the air conditioner. There were a couple of things I missed. There’s no outdoor area for drying clothes, which would’ve been useful on a beach trip, and I’d hoped guests could access the rooftop to enjoy the view or work somewhere relaxing. The neighborhood karaoke was distracting even with the window shut, but that was a small issue compared with the rest of the stay. I had a really pleasant time at Lugar Bonito and am already looking forward to coming back. Thanks for a memorable stay 🫶

Getting around was easy from the hotel. It sits between Diamond Hotel and Shoretime, across the road from the beach. D-Mall takes about 5-8 minutes on foot, depending on your pace, and Willy's Rock, Smooth Cafe, Jonah's Shake, and Sunny Side Cafe are also nearby. The Hop On Hop Off bus stop is right outside. Our Standard room was clean and neat, though a bit small. We needed some time to figure out the layout, and I would’ve liked a window. If you want more room to walk around, you may prefer one of their other room types. The hotel itself is small, with just six rooms, and I liked its cute exterior, theme, and feel. The staff were easy to talk to and explained things clearly. They responded quickly when we asked for replacement supplies or water refills. They also give first-time travelers a sheet of recommended activities and restaurants. We had a very good stay, and I’d recommend coming back for the staff, atmosphere, and location.

The reception staff member greeted me with a cool towel and a glass of water, then helped carry my luggage upstairs. When I asked for a hair dryer and room spray, he brought them right away. Chicky, the hotel host, was lovely too. She welcomed me warmly and helped me refill my water, and they made me feel safe and at home. I stayed for two nights in Boracay. Lugar Bonito is in Station 1, and you just cross the road to reach the beach. My second-floor room had no opening window and was decorated in a beautiful Santorini style. It was a bit small but suited me, and the bed, pillow, and blanket were so comfortable. The air conditioning worked well when I wanted the room warm or cool. I highly recommend staying here.

Right across the street is Station One Beach, which, after seeing most of Boracay's beaches, I thought was the nicest. It had clear blue water and white sand without stones. Several coffee and food places are right next to Lugar Bonito too. The host, Chiqui Llige, knows a lot about Boracay and is endlessly witty. She and her dedicated, lovely workers, Ronald and Wilna, can answer questions about the island, restaurants, and places to see. I’ve never had service this attentive, especially compared with larger chain hotels, where the standards can be much less exacting. It’s the best service you’ll get, from the most thoughtful host.
