The adjoining restaurant was a letdown. The portions were tiny for the high prices, and the food wasn’t particularly good. There aren’t many other options in this area, which made that even sadder. The staff were generally friendly. We slept really well in the room, which was fantastic for getting some rare quiet in the Philippines, especially around Coron. There were no roosters or chickens during our stay, and I liked that the dogs were vaccinated. But the bathtub had already been filled, which felt a bit sketchy and left me wondering how long the water had been sitting. The advertised hot water wasn’t working either. I got no discount, just a shrug from staff. UPDATE: The owner’s response to my review is straight-up lies. We were NOT offered compensation or a free kayak. Owning mistakes instead of watering down every complaint would show real quality, and apparently that’s something they lack.

We stopped by for the day and found everyone welcoming. The surroundings were clean and peaceful, and the food was great. I haven’t stayed in the rooms yet, but I’m looking forward to coming back. It seems ideal for anyone riding the Coron loop by motorcycle.

Snorkelling right around the pontoon out front was probably better than anywhere else we tried. The dugong trip we booked was another highlight of the trip. We came in the off season at the last minute and had the place to ourselves. We planned on two nights, but loved it so much that we gave up our next stay to spend one more night here. Those three nights were the highlight of our two weeks in the Philippines. No crowds, a relaxed feel and home-cooked meals. Just great. Thanks, Sandcastles.

The huts are nice, and the location feels dreamy. The food was disappointing for the price, though. The hot tub wasn’t hot, so it felt like a waste of water. I’ll give them 10* for effort, at least.

We stayed in the hut over the water, and it felt magical. It’s a lovely, peaceful spot for unwinding away from the usual path, and beautiful Lakdayn beach is close by. Jolinda the cook is fantastic, too. I strongly recommend her food.
