Big Daddy Hotel & Convention

The room was really clean, the bed comfy, and the aircon on full blast, which I loved. I also got free breakfast with coffee. I arrived late after travelling from Surigao to Butuan and booked while on the bus. I had no cash at check-in, but the front desk officer let me in without the 500 deposit. I just wanted to leave my bag, find something to eat, and locate a convenience store where I could cash out through gcash. Thanks for making me feel safe. It was my second time in Butuan, and this will be my go-to place when I’m there.

The air conditioning kept the venue comfortable, even though I expected it to be hot in Butuan. It’s a huge space that can hold 200-300 people, so it works well for seminars or summits.

If you just need somewhere to sleep and aren’t expecting much, the rooms will do. They’re fairly spacious, but the decor feels dated and has little charm. The beds are decent, though not especially comfortable, and some furniture is worn. The bathroom works, but could be kept up better: the fixtures feel old, and water pressure isn’t consistent. Housekeeping covers the basics, and that’s about it. There aren’t enough outlets for charging devices, and the in-room Wi-Fi is unreliable. The rooms at Big Daddy Hotel and Convention are just okay, and they won’t impress.

The front desk staff were good, and the room and food service were good too. The aircon was cold, but the blanket was old and thin. The bedding and towels need replacing, they’re old and overused. The shower could be improved.
