Embassy Hotel

We came in without a booking and the hotel staff welcomed us warmly. They handled everything smoothly and made us feel comfortable and valued from the start. Really impressive hospitality, highly recommended!

The dining area is spacious, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. Embassy is one of Butuan City’s classic dining spots. I especially like the sotanghon guisado, bistek tagalog, and garlic chicken. The food is simple, delicious, and reasonably priced.

The rooms smell nice and are clean, and the comfort rooms are very clean too. The shower has its own door, so the toilet floor doesn’t stay wet after you shower. Still, there’s no hot and cold shower, and it feels a bit pricey. Other places nearby offer the same amenities for less. They don’t give you a menu for the free breakfast. You can only choose bacon or ham, with no vegetarian option. It took almost an hour to serve a very simple meal, and it arrived cold. I should’ve eaten outside, since there are other places nearby.

We stayed one night, and it was okay. The place looks great, and the environment was neat and clean. The staff seemed nice, customer service was good, and they served roasted salted peanuts while we waited for our food. The restaurant was very empty when we came, probably because the pandemic was going on then, which was to be expected. There’s no elevator, and we had to ask for things like the water kettle, mug, spoon, and coffee. The receptionist had to open our room because the electronic key-card lock was apparently low on battery, though he gave us a key. I hope they improve and keep serving customers gladly. Hopefully COVID will end soon so hotels like this can get back to business.
