RedDoorz @ EM Pensiontel Butuan City

We left just an hour after checking in. The rooms have no windows, which felt like a potential fire trap, and the hallway seemed unsafe because water from the aircon vents drips straight onto the floor with no pipes. Inside, cockroaches were moving around even with the lights on, and the queen bed was small and hard, with tiny pillows. I’m going to file a formal complaint with RedDoorz group, which is supposed to oversee this dump, and ask for a full refund of the prepaid reservation. Don’t book this hotel. It was a complete disappointment and waste of money.

A budget-friendly option with friendly staff. It’s a little outside the city, but I had my motorbike, so that wasn’t a problem.

I’m really frustrated with how this reservation was handled. I meant to book a place for my partner at RedDoorz @ Kamalig ng Caraga Butuan City, but accidentally reserved the wrong RedDoorz, RedDoorz @ EM Pensiontel Butuan City - Vaccinated Staff, for two nights. It was too far from the city. I emailed seconds after making the reservation to say I couldn’t use it, and tried to cancel it. The phone number didn’t work, and there was no online payment option, so I understood I’d pay on arrival. I emailed again the next day after seeing that the full amount, over 45,80€ (2.620,40 php), had been charged to my account. I still haven’t had a reply, and I paid for nothing. I canceled by email seconds after reserving, got no response, and then my card was charged days later even though I never arrived. Where’s the logic? Where is humanity going to? I’d also mentioned in my email that I had booked the correct place for the same night, where my partner checked in. That booking was also at RedDoorz, and I was able to pay online without problems. Another strange detail: the booking details list the original price as 2462.98 EUR for two nights in an ugly small room. Maybe something is wrong with agoda, or maybe this RedDoorz is handling things in an unclean manner. I hope RedDoorz contacts me and resolves this. I used to think positively about the company, but this experience changed that drastically.

The hotel was convenient for our training venue. The staff were great, kind, and courteous.
