Liwa-Liw Beach Villas & Dome Glamping

The people here are warm and welcoming, and Liw-liwa still feels raw and relatively unspoiled instead of heavily commercialized. It's a smaller, more intimate version of the laid-back charm of La Union, with calm waves, a broad sandy stretch, and a cozy surf-town feel. A lovely place for a quick escape if you want fewer crowds. Come to surf, watch the sunset, or just slow down, and you may end up staying longer than planned.

The beach is dirty, and it makes me wonder where the environmental fees go. Water from the sink stank, and the smell stayed on our skin. The jacuzzi and pool water was so cloudy you couldn't see your feet, and grey water drained into the backyard with no proper system, leaving a bad smell around the area. The room was too expensive for its condition and couldn't fit six people. There were no toiletries like shampoo or bath soap; I could understand the lack of towels, but drinking water is usually included in the resorts and villas I've booked. It felt like the place was trying to milk everyone who booked. If you're looking for accommodation, avoid the place, or really the El Samba area, and spend your money wisely.

The free ATV was one of the problems: when we asked about it, the caretaker, who I think was the owner, told us to look for it ourselves instead of checking whether it was available. We had asked that morning, but she didn't come to the villa until after 10am, with checkout at noon, so there was barely time to use it. Her attitude toward us also made the service feel poor. The premium Dome at Liwa-liw Beach villas and Domes was nice, but the water smelled bad enough that we couldn't bathe. The common CR was still being built, and its door wouldn't close.
