Straw Huts Liwliwa

Ms. Ruth, the Manager, handled everything on her own when I visited, and she made it feel easy and welcoming. She replied to my Messenger inquiry right away, too. The place was clean, peaceful, and well cared for, a lovely spot to unwind. I came all the way from Manila, and the trip was worth it. Straw Huts Liwliwa was a relaxing, pleasant stay, and I could feel how much care they put into making guests feel at home. Highly recommended.

Our hut fit three people and was good for the price, though it was a little small. The staff were friendly and ready to help if we needed anything. It’s in a quiet spot near the edge of Liwliwa beach. The main thing I’d improve is the bathroom and shower area, where water collects instead of draining well. Aside from that, we had a great budget-friendly stay, and breakfast was included.

The receptionist was nice, but I didn’t feel the place was worth the price. It looks good in photos, but it wasn’t well maintained. The bed seemed clean, though the One Piece throw pillows looked old. There was trash under our teepee, and the air conditioner and ceiling were dusty. We appreciated the umbrella provided for each room, the water dispensers, and the included breakfast, which was fine. But the shower and faucet water smelled really bad, like sewage and rust. No one had warned us. I have a skin condition, so that was especially disappointing, and I wish they'd been upfront about it. The place has potential but needs a lot of work. For anyone who needs internet, Globe mobile data is slow, and the Wi-Fi doesn't reach the teepee area.

I didn't take photos so the owners would have a chance to improve the place. It isn't very big: since it belongs to one of the owners of camp haven, there are only six teepee huts and two large rooms with private cr. There are shared showers, but one was closed and the others were open. The shower areas and shared toilet and bath weren't well maintained, and the lighting was too dim to tell if they were clean. The tap water also smelled like it came from a deep well. When I checked the beachfront, I was saddened to see traces of bonfires that had badly affected the sand. I hope they keep checking the beach. And to the municipality of San Felipe, since you charge an eco-tourism fee, please inspect the coast every day. There was trash everywhere.
