Sun in Hand Beach Resort

The location and views were wonderful. The resort is beachfront, just a 1-2 minute walk to the beach, and our balcony looked out over it. The simple rooms were clean and had air conditioning, a welcome bonus in the heat. But I rated the service 1/5. During our two days and one night, the staff weren't helpful. When our group of 15 arrived, the front desk woman saw us but didn't greet us; when we asked who to speak to, she simply said, “me.” The water was shut off around 8 PM, so we couldn't flush or wash our hands and had to use the shared facilities downstairs. It wasn't turned back on until morning, and we had to wake the caretakers to ask them to do it. I've never stayed at a hotel or resort that cut off the water without warning. The electricity also kept going out, though that's a city issue. At checkout, we asked why the water had been turned off. The front desk woman said it was the owner's order. If shutting off water at night is resort policy, they should say so on their website or Facebook. Poor communication and unprofessional caretakers made this a negative stay. Sun in Hands Resort could be a nice place to relax if those issues were fixed. If you book, ask about water availability.
