RSAM Beach Resort by Cocotel

The sea was calm, but we found litter along the beach, and noise from neighboring resorts meant videoke could be heard everywhere. The room for 4-6 people was clean and cool, though it needed more cabinet space for bags, somewhere to hang wet towels and clothes, and hooks in the bathroom for towels. The small pillows had a strange smell, like cockroaches. Food was just so-so. The tapa was tough to chew, and the fried chicken was bland. Free Wi-Fi had a weak signal too. We were disappointed with the resort. It’s affordable, but there are a lot of things it lacks. I hope they address them.

We were a group of 14 and booked two rooms. There’s parking, a pool, cavanas, a restaurant, and group rooms. Internet is available, but it’s quite slow and only reaches the lobby, so it won’t work well for work. A good option for a family break with no gadgets.

The resort is right in front of the beach, and I like how well kept the pool and cottages are. Entrance costs 300, and open cottages are 3k.

Dinner had barely begun when staff came to tell us our room was flooding. Around 6:30 PM, we’d finished time at the beach and pool and had just sat down at the resort restaurant and placed our orders. Water from the second-floor room had run down to the ground floor because the earlier bidet repair hadn’t held. We had booked a triple room hoping for a relaxing vacation, but things went wrong from check-in. The bathroom bidet was leaking, so we told staff right away to avoid wasting water. It was fixed at first, but the air conditioning wasn’t cooling properly. We asked for an electric fan and were told we could only get one at night, after the restaurant closed, which was inconvenient. There was no maintenance staff readily available, and it took a long time for anyone to respond. The room was flooded, and no one cleaned up promptly. When we asked to move, staff first refused because only more expensive rooms were available. We had to insist and explain how disruptive and unacceptable it was, especially on vacation. Our food got cold, and the staff handled the situation poorly. They also refused to let us speak with a manager. After a lot of back and forth, we were finally allowed to switch rooms, but no one helped move our belongings. Nearby resorts were fully booked, so we had no other option. What disappointed us most was the lack of a sincere apology, manager involvement, or any attempt to make up for the trouble. There was no compensation or goodwill gesture, and not even proper assistance. The stay was a letdown. I hope the resort improves its customer service and maintenance response.
