Express Inn - Osmeña

I came with my partner, and we wanted to leave as soon as possible. Our AC was set to 16°C and we couldn’t adjust it. When we told the hotel staff, they couldn’t fix it and tried to convince us everything was working fine. They also showed no interest in helping with instructions or suggestions for what to visit in town, or where to rent a motorbike or car.

The room was okay and the location very central, but there was an extra cost at check-in that hadn’t been disclosed. We’d paid through an online booking, then staff said we had to pay more because the online price was different from their usual price. They said otherwise the staff would have to cover the cost. That’s not the customer’s fault. It felt like a scam.

Overpriced. The bathrooms often have water problems, including low pressure, temperature changes, and leaks.

After storm Tino, Cebu was in crisis, and I checked in at Express Inn Cebu around 5:13 AM today, 11/5, exhausted after a night without power or rest. Staff showed no empathy and refused my small late checkout request unless I paid extra. They also wouldn’t let me speak to the manager. Parking was overcharged at ₱25/hour for 11 hours, and the amount was only reduced after I mentioned calling the police. I had to come back and demand a receipt before they issued one. In a moment when compassion mattered, the service felt greedy and indifferent, completely unethical and unhelpful. Never again.
