Gplace Hotel

We only stayed briefly, but it was a pleasant visit. The staff were helpful, and since we arrived early they let us leave our luggage safely before check-in. The refill station was handy too, just one Philippine peso (P1.00) to top up a bottle. Getting around was easy, since the inn is only a few meters from the main road. Our room had the basics ready, including toothbrushes, plenty of tissue, shampoo, free coffee, and bottled water. The shower heater worked, and the air conditioning kept the room comfortable.

The mattress was the one good thing. The room felt like a bunker, and the air conditioner outside was noisy, with buckets on the ground to catch dripping water. There was mold, no hot shower, and the linen was dirty. Wi-Fi didn't work in the room, and neither did Smart, though it worked fine once outside. You also have to pay 1c for each cup of water. They forgot a second towel we asked for, then brought us a dirty one.

My son Zachary and I are in the same twin room, and his review is accurate. I read the bad reviews but don't recognize the place they describe. Our room and shower room are spotless, and the bedroom floor looks like some kind of layered vinyl, not concrete. The corridor is concrete. The Wi-Fi is normal, and while the hallway dispenser costs 1 peso, there's a free one-litre jug and cups in the room. The staff are genuinely warm. It's great value, as clean as any chain hotel in Europe, and our first choice. We travel a lot, though some people are never satisfied, like my ex hehe.

For the price, this is spotless and excellent value, with friendly service. The room has a working TV, free coffee, snacks, and toothbrushes, and it's centrally located, just a short walk from South Bus Terminal. The photos are accurate. When I'm in Cebu City, this is my first choice now.
