The New View by Ecotel - Cebu

The room we were first given was very dirty, and the things inside didn’t seem to have been cleaned properly. The shower ran slowly because its head was clogged with dirt, the restroom smelled bad, and the towels smelled awful after one use. We stayed a couple of days, and things got worse when the Wi-Fi stopped working. At the front desk, we were told our room was in a dead spot, but nobody had mentioned there would be no connection at all. When we asked to move rooms, one employee said they were fully booked. Then, after we asked for a manager, a room suddenly became available. What kind of service is that? Our Cebu trip was spoiled by this terrible hotel service. I know we paid a cheap rate, but the service we got was much worse. Completely unacceptable.

We’ve only been here one night so far, and it’s been good. The amenities are decent, the water is fine, the aircon is cool, and the beds are great. There are 11 of us in three rooms, one triple and two quadruples, at a very affordable price. For a night or two, it’s all fine. The staff are friendly and smiley too. I’d give it 4.5 out of 5.

Finding the place was tricky unless you use Grab, but for the price it was okay. I stayed three nights last June, and the room size felt right for a budget stay. The bathroom was the letdown: the shower head and sink were rusty. There was no laundry service at the hotel.

There were ants everywhere, other bugs too, and even a squashed one on the table. The bed had brown stains, and the bathroom was filthy and moldy enough to make it hard to breathe in there. The room smelled like mold as well. I think they just painted over it. I stayed during Sinulog, and it was so bad.
