Grand Emilia Hotel

The location is the one upside, since it's close to SM City Mall. But booking this hotel for the last part of our trip felt like a mistake. I've never stayed somewhere that didn't offer free bottled drinking water. You have to go downstairs to refill your bottle, and they don't provide glasses either, so you need to buy them separately.

The area looks a little rough when you first arrive, but the room was clean and very large. Down the street we found a local Filipino restaurant with excellent food. There's also a massage parlor with ridiculously low prices: 250 pesos for an hour, or 300p for an hour-long hot stone massage. I get massages on my travels, and this place was fantastic to visit. I highly recommend the hotel.

The staff are friendly and helpful, the location is decent, and most nights are quiet. But there's construction on the property, and the workers start at 7 am, even on weekends. I complained because I go to a hotel to sleep. One day the noise started later, but on Saturday they were cutting tiles with an angle grinder at 7 am again. In a few hours, when people are awake, they start painting. I can't understand why they don't paint first in the early hours instead. The fixed shower head points at the wall, so the bathroom floods every time. Those are my main complaints. If you sleep past 7 am, check whether the construction is still going on, because the workers don't seem to care about guests.

A budget-friendly hotel with a touch of mid-tier luxury. The room was super cozy and the staff were super friendly. 🥰🥰🥰
