SR Vacation Rental - The Persimmon Condominium

The room was comfortable and had a huge glass window, though I guess the experience depends on which unit you get. We didn’t have any issues. The place is easy to reach on foot from nearby establishments and SM City. It’s quiet, with a lovely view at night, especially from the rooftop. The building is well guarded, and you can ask the lobby or guards to get a taxi. The pool closes at 9 pm afair, and it was relaxing to swim while looking out at the city. The pool CR was neat, comfortable to use, and well maintained. It’s a good affordable stay for a trip.

The room was okay, but the induction didn’t work, so we had to improvise. We were due to check in at 2pm, yet waited an hour while they finished cleaning. Some staff weren’t polite to the teenagers. The pool fee is very expensive at ₱200.00, and it wasn’t worth it. Most of the chairs were broken, the table had a big hole, the area was messy, and the CR was untidy.

The noise and daily hassles made this return stay a regret. Nearby construction kept pounding through the day, and a very loud nightclub played well past midnight. Even the elevators being out could mean a wait of over ten minutes at busy times. There’s no longer any free overnight parking, and parking a motorbike on site costs 20 pesos an hour, which adds up over several nights. The roach problem was already here on my past visits, but it’s still just as bad. I’ve seen American roaches, the big flying kind, and now Oriental roaches too. You could fill a roach bingo card fast. There seem to be far fewer people staying here these days.

SM City Cebu is about a 10-15-minute walk away, and the place seems to be used mostly by locals and local travelers. It was clean, though I did spot a few small ants in the room, and it stayed quiet. At night it seemed well guarded, with several guards at each building and at the main gates. I was quite satisfied with the stay.
