J & H Apartments by OYO Rooms

Food stalls and restaurants nearby are less expensive than the ones uptown, and Food Panda delivery is just a call away. Grocery and department stores are close too, with everything within walking distance. If we needed a ride, taxis and jeepneys were easy to get. Midtown is quiet and restful, and the homey feel made it a great place to unwind after a long day or weekend. We were happiest with our choice and would definitely return to J & H! 😍🥰 Our two-bedroom unit had a cozy living room, bathroom, dining area, and kitchen, all well equipped with a large fridge, cable TV, free internet, and an air conditioner that worked well. It was spotless and spacious, with extra towels, soap, shampoo, drinking water, coffee, and tea on hand. There was also a relaxing patio for sitting, eating, or lounging outside. The manager and staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The apartment was cleaned daily, kept in good shape, and felt safe. We had a perfect holiday at J and H apartment!

I rented at J & H Apts on F. Pacana St. in Labangon for three months before the pandemic, and I was eager to leave. It's privately owned and run in a very amateurish way. The staff, especially housekeeping, gossiped constantly, watched what I was doing, and judged whether they approved of my guests. I know because two different female friends visited, and both complained about how the people at the front gate treated them. Where I rent now is much better. It's a large condo building with more professional staff, and none of my guests have ever had trouble with them.

Parking was limited, with room for only two cars, but the area was nice and the room clean. We had a small issue with the room description and accommodation. The staff were accommodating, even offering free rice to go with the noodle soup. They also sold a liter of drinks for the same price as outside. All in all, it felt like a homestay.

Watch out for a bait and switch. I spoke by email with an American guy who owns the place, and he gave me the price and details. But when my GF went to check it out and leave a deposit, the terms had changed completely, and the rooms looked nothing like the photos online. I wouldn't book unless you're already there and ready to move in.
