The buffet breakfast could use more variety, and the Wi-Fi was slow, so this probably isn’t ideal if you’re trying to work while away. On the plus side, the rooms were clean and roomy, the staff were easy to approach and accommodating, and the quiet atmosphere and mountain-and-greenery views made for a relaxing visit. It seems well suited to families or events.

It’s quite a trip from Cebu City, so arrange round-trip land transport before you go. Once there, though, the friendly staff, tasty affordable food, and highland setting make it a great escape. Wi-Fi ran at 50Mbps, while Globe and Dito were at 10mbps, so I’d recommend it for a WFH setup too. One of Cebu’s best highland resorts, in my view, and I’m planning to return soon.

The staff were polite and helpful, and we found the room, pool, and views excellent. Our stay at Mist Mountain was a relaxing one, and it’s a place I’d highly recommend to families with kids. One of our best stays in the country.

We’ve been to Mist Mountain Resort four times now, most recently on January 2, and it still looks as beautiful as it did on our first visit. The mist drifting past the hotel bed and the cool weather make the 45-minute to 1-hour ride from Cebu City feel worthwhile. You’re away from the city bustle, and air conditioning isn’t really necessary. There are lots of trees, plus camping grounds and a hiking trail, and it’s clear Management cares about the environment. There’s plenty to explore. The game and karaoke rooms were fun and can hold up to 30 pax. We were also glad we could bring up to 2 pets. We brought our cats and made sure they didn’t damage anything in the room. The staff kept busy and seemed to enjoy their work. The lifeguard was focused and disciplined about pool safety, and housekeeping moved quickly. During a short hike around the resort, we saw the staff rooms and thought they’d been given good places to stay. Kudos to the Management. Food was another highlight, especially since there aren’t other restaurant options nearby. Our family loved the house salad so much we ordered it twice, and our relatives kept talking about the food. The pork sisig had an amazing smell, and the breakfast buffet was included with our stay. The pancakes were less sweet than the ones at other restaurants and fast-food chains. I’d try the grilled tuna belly, sisig, ginataang monggo, calamares, house salad, pochero, lomi, and beef salpicao. The omelette smelled great too. At the breakfast buffet’s egg station, they’ll make an omelette, scrambled egg, or sunny side up the way you like it. Just be warned, the chef takes omelettes to the next level.
