It's affordable, but there were several problems. The bathroom floor was dirty and the TV didn't work. I booked for two nights and expected the room to be cleaned, with sheets and towels changed and rubbish taken out, but none of that happened until I asked when I returned around 11 p.m. I had also paid for breakfast when booking, yet staff missed it in their records, so I waited a long time for food while the other guests had finished. Staff could be more approachable and accommodating.

I booked four nights and stayed one. I couldn't get out fast enough. The bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned and smelled putrid, so I wouldn't use it. The AC was inside one bed, and the person sleeping there closed the curtain for privacy, blocking the cool air from the rest of us. She also turned the temperature up because she felt cold, while the rest of us were cooking in the dorm. I won't stay again.

It was a nice place and the room was good, but I didn't feel secure. There are no CCTV cameras, and staff are often away from the counter, so anyone could come in and take something. It was still a pleasant stay, though it could have been better.

The reception girl and the other staff were really nice and helpful. Breakfast was included, with two eggs, toast, bacon, jam, and coffee. There are cute, relaxing areas on each floor, free drinking and hot water, plus a small gym on the fourth floor. The dorm was okay, with AC and half-curtains on the beds. The toilet wasn't great and had no toilet paper. The location wasn't ideal, with little to do within walking distance. Someone mentioned Mango square, but we didn't check it out. We stayed just one night, went for a walk and ate, then caught jeepney 06B right in front of the hostel to the ferry port. It cost 7 pesos.

If you're on a tight budget and won't be staying long, I'd recommend this place. They have lockers, which you don't usually see in dorm or bunk-bed hostels. Just remember to bring your own lock. No regrets.
