OYO 187 The Maxwell Hotel

Dust was everywhere, the AC was broken and slow, and the light kept blinking. The toiletries were incomplete, with no tissue, body wash, or slippers. I’m so disappointed with the room. You have to keep calling them to follow up.

The location is convenient for getting around, but for what I paid, the stay was only 50/50. The old building has a toilet that doesn’t flush easily. My old AC couldn’t keep the room cool during the day, especially in the afternoon. Sun came straight through the full glass window, and there wasn’t even a blackout curtain. When I complained, they gave me a standing fan. I don’t know if that was meant as compensation, but no one apologized or showed much hospitality. At check-in, the front desk didn’t welcome or attend to me right away. There were probably six to eight people busy talking to each other. I’d recommend it for sleeping at night, but avoid room 309 facing Escario Street. Maybe the AC works better in other rooms.

The city view is nice, the location is very accessible, and the room prices won’t break the bank. It was perfect for me apart from the lack of a blower and a fridge in each room. I’d definitely come back. Thank you.

The staff made the stay great. They were professional, friendly, and accommodating, and greeted us whenever they saw us. My girlfriend and I stayed from April 6-12 in a double room with a queen-size bed. It was spacious, clean, and decent, and the bathroom was alright. The location worked perfectly for us, with convenient access to restaurants, stores, and other essentials. I’ll book here again on our next trip to Cebu.
