The Pocket Hotel( Quarantine Hotel)

Pocket Hotel worked as a budget-friendly stay for me, mainly because the location was so convenient and not far from the airport. Taxis had trouble finding it, though, so Grab was much easier. The price made the room decent enough, but it was noisy and the service was okay rather than special. Housekeeping needs attention. I found mold on the shower head, which was unpleasant.

I was anxious arriving at 1:30 am after reading the Google reviews once I’d booked, but the place was easy to find and getting there went well. Check-in was smooth, expectations were clear, and the room was clean and decent for what I paid. I only needed somewhere to rest for a few hours, with air conditioning, basic reliable Wi-Fi, cleanliness, a low price and a spot close to the airport. It met all of that. I’m not sure why some people leave poor reviews without researching or setting expectations. You’re not paying five-star rates. For the money, it’s good value. If I’d paid ten times as much, I might have found things to pick at, but not for this price. I’ll stay here again on my way out of Cebu.

The room and bathroom were dirty. The floor was sticky from too much soap, so we asked them to mop it again. The restroom was covered in mold, the floor was slippery with it, and the walls had “libag” (grime). The shower head was moldy too. After hugging the pillow, my face was full of pimples the next day, so the pillowcase must have been dirty. The hotel is near the airport, but far from the city center and tourist spots. Before check-in they gave us lots of rules, and the service was really bad. It’s also near a barangay, so a band playing at night made it noisy.

The room was tiny, with no cabinet, a TV that wasn’t connected and very slow Wi-Fi. The toilet had no seat cover, and the towels were so worn and holey I would’ve used them to wash the floor. The window faced a brick wall. The service and the lovely ladies there were the only good parts. Worst place I’ve ever been!
