USDA Dormitory-Hotel

It’s an affordable option if you want somewhere safe and clean. My room was roomy and had bright colors. I think they used color psychology in the design, since it felt restful inside. The bathroom, though, was very narrow. I was unlucky to get a room above 7/11. People were drinking there until the early hours, and I didn’t sleep a wink during my stay. I have no issue with the room itself, just the location.

It’s a cozy, clean place with spacious rooms, hot and cold showers, and very accommodating staff. The price is affordable, and it’s close to Cebu port. Having 711 right beside it is handy for travelers, backpackers, and other guests. I’d definitely recommend staying at USDA while in the city.

For the price, it’s a good place to stay in the heart of Cebu. It was easy to get around by cab, Grabcar, or jeepney. Our room and CR looked clean, the shower had hot and cold water, and there was no bad smell. We slept really well. I wasn’t sure the white bedsheets were clean. They felt a bit itchy, almost as if tiny bugs were crawling on our skin, but we checked and didn’t see anything. We booked a Superior Room for three, but were only given one toothbrush and toothpaste set. Luckily, we’d brought our own toiletries. We’d stay here again when we return to Cebu. Good value.

I can’t recommend staying here. The rooms were dirty, the lights were dim, and the place felt haunted, especially on the top floor where the neighboring rooms were all abandoned. The toilet water was frustratingly slow, taking five minutes to fill a bucket, and the sink was broken.
