Haven 1916 Bed & Breakfast

The rooms are quite big, and breakfast was really good. After eating, head out to the roof for amazing views. The hotel also does laundry for a very cheap price, and the service was good. It’s up the hill from town, and there are lots of nearby roosters, which seems standard in rural areas. Bring earplugs if you want to sleep in.

The rooftop balcony was a lovely spot to catch the sunset, and being one block away from the main strip kept things quieter. Big Mamma's, just down the block on the main street, was our favorite for really tasty food. The breakfast was delicious too. Andrew is a great chef, Ann at the front desk was sweet and helpful, and "Daze" kept our room spotless. The staff were attentive and wonderful. Haven 1916 felt ideal for adults wanting a peaceful stay in Coron.

It’s easy to get around from here: there are plenty of places to eat nearby, the port for boat trips is walkable, and the Mt Tapyas trail starts right next door. Staff were friendly and polite. Our room was clean and roomy, and the air conditioning was quiet. Breakfasts were very good. There was a strong smell of cleaning fluid, though I’d rather have that than a dirty room.

We came for the shipwreck dives and had a blast with Corto Divers. The wrecks are amazing, so bring something to remember them with. If you don’t have a GoPro, Axen might lend you his. He offered after we’d already gone, so we missed the chance. Haven is close to good restaurants, and the rooftop view is nice. Axen, who runs the place, was accommodating and could recommend a tour agency, including Calamian. The rooms were simple and clean, with strong AC, though the shower pressure was weak. We could also use the upstairs kitchen.
