The Riverhouse

On a rainy morning, I took a serene kayak trip down the mangroves on the river. The home-cooked meals were lovely, and being asked to choose an hour ahead made me confident everything was prepared fresh. The team were warm and welcoming, and the views were gorgeous. The bungalows are stunning, modern, tasteful, and huge, with balconies opening onto the forest and river. I stayed one night during a round-island motorbike tour, and this was easily the nicest accommodation I found on the island, with amazing value. It's a wonderful place to start or end a Coron trip, and only a short hop from the airport. Private transfers were less than 10 euro. A big thumbs up from me.

The photos show only a few rooms. We were a larger group and got a much worse room than advertised, with a different refrigerator, room size, and ceiling height. We also rented a kayak with a leak and sank in the river. No refund, no apology, just money.

The river and forest made the stay feel calm and special. Waking to birdsong and watching the sunrise from bed was one of the most magical moments of our trip. With greenery all around and the river beside it, this is a beautiful spot away from the crowds. Hotel Riverhouse felt like a peaceful sanctuary in nature, quiet, beautiful, and unforgettable. A great choice for nature lovers or anyone wanting a tranquil stay in Coron. Highly recommend.

The home-cooked Filipino food was delicious, and the peaceful setting made it easy to relax. We chose Ms. Judith’s place because it was convenient for getting to the Dugong Diving Center. Ms. Judith was welcoming and attentive, too. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back.
