Kalis Viewpoint Lodge Coron

Great location in Coron town, with wonderful staff and good rates for basic rooms. The beds were very comfy and the AC worked well. Our booking had a mixup with the bed request, so we didn’t get exactly what we expected, but we were able to upgrade and were very thankful. The shower pressure was poor, though it did the job. The stairs are really steep, so you need good mobility. The rooftop viewing area is very nice, but small and intimate.

The staff were lovely, the location was good, and the rooftop had a great sunset view. The room was cramped, with no space to open a suitcase, and the bathroom was tiny. The shower was about the size of one large floor tile. Hundreds of ants would show up in the sink every few hours, and there was dog urine and feces in the corridor outside our room. I know the price is fair, but we’ve stayed in much nicer, cleaner rooms in the Philippines for the same cost. Hopefully they can make some improvements 😊

It’s cheap, on a quiet street, and the WiFi was very fast, around 300 mbps. Everything else was a disaster. The AC barely worked, there was no hot water, and there was no receptionist at night, so you couldn’t complain. The sheets had multiple hairs on them, big ants crawled on the room walls, and large cockroaches were outside at night. I left a sealed chocolate bar and came back to find 20-30 tiny ants all over it. Sound insulation was poor too. Because it’s so cheap, it draws visitors who yell in the hallways and keep slamming doors. What a dumpster of a hotel. You can get something waaaaaaay nicer for that price.

The reception girls were lovely, the room was great, and the service was good. It’s super well located, just two steps from everything.
