Aqua Hostel

I'd never stayed in a hostel before, and this was a great first try. It was quiet, the sheets smelled fresh and clean, and the toilet and shower were good to use. There's a nice balcony, and bars, restaurants, and shops are close by. Great price too. I'd definitely recommend it 👌🏽

The location was the only real plus, near good restaurants and another company that we eventually used to arrange our airport transfer. Our room was mostly fine and the beds were comfortable, but the AC was useless. The hostel smelled of cheese, and the showers and toilets left the room smelling like sewage. A friend and I asked reception to arrange a transfer to Busanga airport five days before our flight. The day before, we checked whether it was still happening and were told to come back in half an hour. The receptionist had disappeared when we did. Then, two hours before we needed to leave on flight day, we asked again and were told the transfer had been cancelled because the company she'd supposedly booked with was changing staff. If we hadn't checked that morning, she seemed perfectly willing to let us miss our flight. After the receptionist left us without a ride, we booked with the other nearby company.

Four beds on each side, one toilet, and two shower rooms made for a nice, comfortable stay. The bedroom and service were nice too. It was a good experience, so give aqua hostel a try.

The dorm had good AC, decent Wi-Fi, and a really central location. But there were no lockers or other secure place to lock up belongings, and the shower was cold. They didn't restock the toilet paper, so I kept having to ask for more. They were overbooked on my first night and put me in another dorm they use as a laundry room. At times the whole place felt disorganized.
