Hotel Formosa Daet

The rooms were clean and roomy enough for a family, and we really enjoyed the breakfast. Formosa Hotel is also close to a mall and restaurants. We were happy with our stay, especially the good service and attentive staff.

The room was just the right size for one and acceptably clean. The air conditioning worked well, though the blanket was so thin that I kept wanting to turn the temperature up. There’s no hot shower, but the water was tolerable, neither cold nor hot. There’s no elevator, only stairs, though a staff member helped with my luggage. It was okay for me.

The power suddenly went out while I was changing in the bathroom. My mom thought it was because of the rain, but the hotel doesn’t have a generator at all. The bathroom water was only warm, and sometimes a little cold. When we were about to head out on our third day exploring Camarines Norte, we found they had provided a tabo instead of a bidet for using the toilet. At night, the air conditioner was loud and very cold, while my siblings and other relatives only had small, thin blankets. My brother got sick. Check-in at Hotel Formosa took a while because of the Superior Sweet Deluxe Room with its 2 Queen-sized beds. The staff member then recommended we pay extra for a mattress for someone else to literally sleep on the ground, and we almost got scammed. Hotel Formosa is not a very nice hotel in Camarines Norte. I recommend staying somewhere else.

The staff were very helpful, even arranging transport for us from daet to Legazpi. We also liked how convenient the location is, near SM malls. We’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.
