Travelbee Heritage Inn

We stayed three nights for leisure. The neighborhood itself was quiet, though the AC from the next room came through loudly, and plumbing noises from upstairs sounded as if our own toilet was being used. Cleanliness was 3/5, Wi-Fi was usable but disconnected now and then (3/5), and we felt safe (4/5). Breakfast was included with the standard room booking, with silog meals (3/5). Value was 2.5/5, and I’d be fine with one night, but for a longer stay I’d look elsewhere. The location is close enough to the center and boulevard, where most food places are (4/5). Check-in and service were a strong point: they replied to Agoda and Messenger inquiries, were approachable in person, handled requests promptly and respectfully, and gave good recommendations when asked (5/5). The rooms need considerable work. The facade looks good, and the lobby, dining area and veranda mix vintage and modern styles nicely, but the rooms felt dull. Room 22 seemed aged, with its wooden bed, shelves, bedside table and plain walls. Pillows and linens were basic but okay, and the blankets could be thicker. The sink was clogged, the faucet loose, the shower head leaked and wouldn’t stay in its holder, the old AC needed an upgrade, and the TV remote and batteries needed replacing. After one night, they accommodated our request to move. Room 21 was a little better, though it also needed maintenance, and was more manageable than the first. Room quality: 2/5.

The room was clean, and the front desk staff were welcoming and very accommodating. Breakfast came with complimentary juice and coffee too. One thing I’d suggest is adding blinds or something to block the morning light coming through the window. It gets too bright when I want to sleep longer.

We stayed five days and four nights and were happy with the experience. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the place is easy to reach, within walking distance of the Plaza. Staff were very friendly and helpful, with customer service that surprised us for a budget hotel. The AC was too loud, but that was our only concern. Breakfast had limited choices but was good, and there was free juice and coffee to enjoy anytime. I’d definitely consider staying here again.

The room felt old, though this was still the best of the three hotels we’ve stayed at in Dapitan. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
