I left disappointed after what had been a wonderful vacation. I’ve traveled many times over the past few years, including from the Netherlands, and I’ve never been charged for a stained pillowcase before. The mark was minor and seemed washable, but they didn’t try detergent or a proper wash. They just wet it. Over the phone, I heard staff discussing whether to charge 500 for the stain or 1,000 pesos per pillow, followed by, “Icharge mo na sila.” It gave me the impression they didn’t care about their guests. You shouldn’t have to worry about being charged thousands of pesos for a pillow that isn’t perfectly spotless. I’d book somewhere else. They seem to have forgotten how washing machines and detergent work.

We needed reliable internet for remote work, but the Wi-Fi in our first room was too slow to use. We told the front desk we might leave and were willing to pay an inconvenience fee. They moved us to another room, but didn’t say it cost ₱300 more per day. We stayed three days, and only found out about the added charges at checkout. Any price change should be explained and approved before it’s applied. The internet problem was already a hassle, and those unexpected charges made the stay worse. It felt very unprofessional, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

After 15 hours of road travel for a corporate trip, we just wanted a decent place to rest. The location is accessible, but that was about the only good part of our stay at Hotel Herencia. The first room’s toilet and bath were unsanitary, and the drains were clogged, so showering comfortably wasn’t possible. We asked to move, but the second room had the same drainage problem and no phone line to reach the front desk. The manager was rude and didn’t apologize. She said, “Is there still some concern? Maybe when I go downstairs, you’ll complain again.” That dismissive attitude was unacceptable. There was also no room service for the complimentary breakfast. We had to walk to a nearby restaurant to get it, which was tiring and inconvenient after such a long trip. I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially to corporate guests or anyone traveling a long distance who needs comfort, cleanliness, and basic courtesy.

For the price, the rooms were decent, and the morning view of Mayon was lovely. There’s a restaurant and coffee shop on-site, plus the market, food stalls, a hospital, and 711 nearby. It was the most affordable hotel we found close to Legazpi, Albay’s tourist spots and the airport.

The view of Mayon is stunning. The place is clean and newly built, with good access to Bicol International Airport, Legazpi City, and Daraga Proper. There’s a 7-11, The Generics Pharmacy, and Daraga Doctors Hospital nearby. Magma restaurant offers room service. I ordered Tampano sinigang and liked it.
