Davao Persimmon Suites

Breakfast was okay, and the server and night staff were helpful. The room, though, was tiny and felt claustrophobic. There’s no window, just fake curtains, and the lack of airflow in such a small space could be a danger for oxygen levels. Also, no elevator, and my room was on the fourth floor.

The location is the best part of Davao Persimmon Suites, and it’s why I booked it. The early-morning service was a letdown. When we arrived, nobody was on duty and there was no bell or obvious way to get help. The receptionist eventually came over, but seemed just woken up, was unwelcoming, and answered basic questions without much effort or courtesy. Parking is very limited, and it seemed staff motorcycles got priority over guest cars. The Wi-Fi was poor too, and the stay didn’t match what was advertised. With better staff training and customer service, this place could make much more of its excellent location.

The location and service were good, but the room smelled so strong that I’d rather smell durian than breathe it in. It was dirty, greasy, mouldy, smelly, and poorly maintained. What we got was far worse than expected. They really could do better. The sanitary issues were hard to ignore.

The room itself was clean and decent, but loud guests next door kept us awake until about 2 AM. We couldn’t sleep, so we left early and missed the breakfast we’d paid for. The stay wasn’t worth it because of the noise. I hope management does a better job enforcing quiet hours so other guests can rest.
