Napsule Suites Davao

The staff were helpful, but I can't see much reason for tourists to stay here. It's not really close to anything, and the dorm quality falls below international standards. I was uneasy sharing a dorm with people who could book for as little as three hours. The AC on my side didn't work, the mattress was paper thin, and the pillow seemed homemade. I was sweltering. I can't recommend it. Pay a bit extra for a room. Hostels aren't really a thing in Davao.

The bed was uncomfortable, the TVs were low quality, and the aircon was damaged. Amenities were incomplete, there weren't enough tables, and the water dispenser didn't give cold water. The bathroom was a little better, but there was no compensation. The experience wasn't worth the price.

For a budget stay, Napsule Suites is reasonable for a short visit. It's near some attractions, though walking around from there isn't easy. Staff were friendly, and you can get free drinking water if you bring a jug. The hostel is at the back of a building on the third floor, reached only by ladder. They provide a towel, toiletries, slippers, and access to a locker. The AC worked well, but the Wi-Fi was on and off. There weren't any hot showers, and the toilet rooms were cramped. Noise could be an issue if a roommate is loud or leaves an alarm going, as staff don't step in. You get what you pay for.

I had about 1000USD in cash stolen from this hostel, and I was helpless at the time. It was one of the worst hostel stays I've had as a solo traveler. Don't tell me you're sorry about the bad experience now, that won't bring back my 1000USD. You'd be better off staying downtown, where you can get a private room for hostel prices, lol.
