RedDoorz Plus @ Roxas Street Davao

We only needed somewhere to sleep after a concert, so the stay was okay in the end. The Wi-Fi didn't work, the air conditioner was cold but dripped water, and the shower drain was so poor that water pooled. We arrived at noon after a graveyard shift and asked about early check-in, offering ₱100 per hour. The desk said no rooms were ready because the hotel was fully booked, which seemed unlikely for a five-floor property. We waited in a warm lobby with no fan or air conditioning, then at 1 pm they said a room had suddenly opened and charged us ₱100. There was only one staff member at the desk, and it was left unattended for several minutes whenever she went to check rooms after checkout. I was hesitant because of the bad reviews, but our stay turned out decent.

It's clean and very conveniently located. There's a restaurant next door that serves coffee.

The room itself was neat, though the bathroom mat wasn't nice. The real problem was the staff, who were difficult to communicate with and seemed indifferent. Before booking online, we asked if two extra guests could stay and offered to pay the additional fee. They agreed, and when we checked in we asked again and were told yes. Then they suddenly said the room was limited to three people because the furniture was fragile. I don't understand why they thought four girls wanting to sleep safely would damage it, especially when they said two people could share one bed but only one could use the other. We kept asking for an exception, but they didn't care, and the manager was supposedly busy. They should have clearly told us the guest limit before we booked. If we'd known, we wouldn't have chosen this hotel. It was deeply disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it, even though it's close to some landmarks. They weren't accommodating at all, including when one of us was trying to find somewhere to stay for a while. Their poor communication and unclear booking information caused this, and they don't deserve even one star.

The room smelled musty, and it clearly hadn't been cleaned before I arrived. There was dirt and staining on the work desk, which I had to wipe myself, and the throw pillows were old and dusty. The sheets had nail clippings, dust, grime, stains, and blood spots. When I asked for clean ones, staff brought replacements and left me to change them myself, lol. The window lock was broken, so someone could get in, and the air conditioner didn't cool the room. Worst place I've stayed. Avoid.
