Giardino Romantico

The pool looked a little murky, though I understand the water comes from a spring and they still add chlorine to clean it. The place itself was clean, and I loved the shower. It was so quiet that it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves, and we enjoyed having the pool to ourselves too. The location is still technically in the city, but it’s peaceful and away from the crowds, and the place is very aesthetic. Blue, their dog, is so cute and friendly. He’d come into our unit because he loved our child, haha. The owner was really nice. I wish we could have said goodbye, but we couldn’t find him at checkout. We’d visit again, and I’m planning to make it a regular family stay.

The host and staff were lovely and so helpful, going above and beyond. Our room was one of the best places we’ve stayed in the Philippines, and it actually looked better than the photos. The bed was really comfortable, and the bathroom was stunning. We also had a terrace with a gazebo and fairy lights inside, such a lovely touch. We had an amazing stay and will definitely be back!

Waking up to birdsong and having breakfast out in the garden made the mornings especially lovely. The breakfast was great, and there’s a nice pool for cooling off after exploring nearby mountain spots or nature attractions. We enjoyed the romantic atmosphere as a couple, and the place is peaceful, charming, and good value for the Dumaguete and Valencia area. Giardino Romantico is surrounded by nature, close to waterfalls and mountains, yet only about 15 minutes from Dumaguete city center. Our room felt luxurious, with perfectly working AC, a large jet shower that was great after a day exploring Valencia’s waterfalls, and a spacious balcony overlooking the beautiful garden. Everything felt cute, intimate, and well maintained. The owner was helpful and made sure things ran smoothly without being too formal. You can also book directly with the hotel for a better price than through booking platforms. We’d absolutely stay here again and recommend Giardino Romantico to anyone visiting the Damugette Valencia area in the Philippines.

We were very disappointed and can’t recommend this hotel, either for the stay or the food. We arrived at 8:30 pm, but our room was still being prepared. In the bathroom, the shampoo hadn’t been refilled, there was no bath mat between the shower and sink, and rubbish was left behind the shampoo holder. The meal was bad too. We ordered Aglio e Olio, but it came with shrimp and peppers. The shrimp hadn’t been cleaned properly and still had the vein, which was very unpleasant. It was also disturbing to see two monkeys kept in a far too small cage, with garbage on the floor inside.
