Obdulia's Business Inn

The location is handy, with a 711 right downstairs and public transport outside to get around. I paid 700+ for one night without breakfast. The room was roomy enough for two, though I was travelling alone and had it to myself. The sheets were clean and smelled fresh, but I spotted a small roach on the other bed when I arrived. The room and hallway were dim, and I kept the bathroom light on because I don't like a dark room. Otherwise, things were good: the AC worked fine, there was cable TV, a drawer, and they provided a towel, soap, and shampoo. The water was fine and the bathroom was clean. A decent, peaceful place for a night on a budget.

The price is reasonable, and the downtown location makes it easy to get to nearby amenities. The staff were amazing and super nice. But the place feels worn down everywhere, like it may not have had a refresh in 20 years. There's potential for a good three-star stay if the stakeholders focus on it. Noise could make it hard to sleep if you want somewhere quaint. It has old-school charm, but seems unsure what it wants to be.

We were in Dumaguete for the first time and hadn't realized the hotel was in the city proper, close to the boulevard. We picked it because it was near the church we planned to visit and stayed four days. The room looked just like the pictures, nothing fancy, but it was clean. The staff were very nice and accommodating.

The bathroom smelled like it hadn't been cleaned in years, and the room could use renovation. It stayed kind of dark even with all the lights on. I gave it two stars because the rate online was very different from the walk-in price. The elevator was handy, and the hotel is near the church and restaurants.
