RM Guest House

The rooms are clean, but they feel old. The sheets are too thin and there's no bidet. For the price, I don't think it's worth it. You can find cleaner, better options for the same amount.

The reception cafe is nice, and Royale Spa is inside, where I enjoyed a massage. The staff were helpful and fixed things right away: they brought an extra pillow and soap, and dealt with the aircon dripping like water torture. I appreciated them, but the amenities still weren't good enough for me to stay again. The Wi-Fi was poor or nonexistent, the twin mattress was cheap and thin, and there were no three-prong outlets. For over P1000, you can get better accommodations. I stayed one night before moving to Dino Residences around the corner.

I paid 800 pesos for a single room when I returned after five years. You get what you pay for, and RM could use renovation. The bathroom needs a thorough scrub or new tiling, the toilet barely flushed, there was no foot towel, and the toilet paper was subpar. An old CRT TV and no table meant my luggage had to go on a chair. I asked for a second pillow and got one much bigger than the first. The bed had only a thin blanket over the sheet. Breakfast was basic Filipino food, tocino and corned beef. There's no elevator, so I walked up to the third floor. The interior decor is especially garish and bizarre. They should have spent that money improving the rooms. It's okay if you're on a budget and keep your expectations in check.

After a fun night out with friends during Buglasan Week, we came back around the middle of the night hoping to rest, but had to wait outside for 10-20 minutes. The glass door was locked with a piece of steel between it. The service was good, and the place was comfortable and clean, but I've stayed at other guesthouses and motels and have never been locked out like that. It's disappointing. I hope they sort it out, since other guests may be disappointed too.
