La Tranquilidad Beach Resort

La Tranquilidad Resort was a huge highlight of our two-week trip around the Philippines, which had its ups and downs. It’s a hidden gem away from chaotic El nido, and I can’t recommend it enough. The trip there takes about 50 minutes by bike or van, or longer by tuktuk, but the peace and quiet make it worth it. You get your own private beach, actually two beaches, and it’s incredibly relaxing. The rooms are big, the bed was super comfortable, and the pillows were the best we had in the Philippines. The hot shower had great pressure. Breakfast was fantastic, with lots of choices, fresh fruit and juice, and they gave us water for the room too. Randomly, the onion rings were the best. The staff are what made it special. Unlike at other places we visited, they genuinely cared and were so kind and helpful. I had terrible bug bites, and they offered lotions and oils right away without me even asking. Big thanks to the manager, her assistant and the owner. The people and their hospitality are what make a place special. If you want a peaceful getaway far from downtown el nido with amazing service, this is the place.

The two beaches around El Nido are the most beautiful. Nacpan, Leo and Duli aren’t better. The scooter tour is worth doing, and the bungalows looked very nice, though I didn’t sleep there. The owner was super nice. Highly recommend.

With hammocks, shady spots and places to sit, it’s easy to spend the day here. There are two lovely beaches and the food was good, especially the fresh fish. I was by myself apart from the staff and two guys from California, who left just as I arrived. It felt like having a private resort. This place is unreal.

Lovely views, really nice staff, and excellent food. Great place.
