Mad Monkey Hostel Nacpan Beach - Adults Only

I ended up staying on the property for three days without leaving. The beach is right there, the atmosphere is relaxed, and I had everything I needed. The beds and bathrooms are huge, easily the biggest I’ve seen at a hostel. Shanel deserves a mention too. She was warm and helpful, and brought a lot of life to the place. I also liked that they hold beach cleanups twice a week, with the money going toward improvements at local kids’ schools. It’s a simple idea that seems to make a real difference, and it felt good to take part. I didn’t expect Mad Monkeys Nacpan to be this good. I’d come back without hesitation if I’m in Nacpan again.

Traveling solo, I felt included from the moment I arrived. Mathilda greeted me with a lovely smile, helped with my carry-on, and made sure I could join the activities. She also spent time chatting with me about meaningful things, which made my stay more comfortable and kept me from feeling left out. Her energy is great, and she makes everything feel easy and natural.

We loved the nightlife, the location, and especially the staff. We extended our stay because we were having such a good time, and I’ll miss the place a lot. Fernanda and everyone else made our trip so special. I’d stay here forever if I could. xxxx

The beach and location are the only things I liked. The dorms were dirty and hot, and from a bottom bunk you’re exposed to whatever falls through the unsealed top bunk, including sand and other bits. The food, coffee, juices, shakes and cocktails were all poor quality and expensive. The restaurant food was awful. We ordered pina coladas and got drinks with no pineapple juice, as if they thought we wouldn’t notice. They made no effort to fix them or comp our drinks after the mistake. Customer service was missing, and the volunteers and staff had bad attitudes. One of the head volunteers from England should be fired immediately. That kind of service and behavior isn’t okay in hospitality.
