Lagùn Hotel

The staff have been a real highlight during my stay at Lagun Hotel El Nido. Everyone I’ve met has been warm, professional, attentive and genuinely helpful. I’m currently here and wanted to share that feedback while I’m still staying at the hotel. My first room looked out at the limestone cliffs, which was a memorable view. After I was moved to another room, the view was of nearby residential homes where living conditions appear modest. That contrast was striking and unexpected, and it has affected my experience. I know the hotel doesn’t control the neighboring properties, but I’d appreciate clearer information about room views, especially when guests are transferred. That could help set expectations while still being respectful of the local community. I was told renovations may be taking place in coordination with local authorities, and I appreciate that if so. Thank you again for the excellent care from the staff. I mean this feedback respectfully and hope it’s useful. One more thing, Mr. Rooster in the neighborhood can be loud. Light sleepers, bring earplugs.

Everything was easy to reach from this excellent location. The rooms were roomy and very clean, the staff helpful and friendly, and breakfast had a good variety. I’d definitely recommend staying here. 🤩

The staff were welcoming and very friendly, and my room was clean. The shower was a little cramped and had some mildew that could easily be cleaned, and there wasn’t anywhere to hang a towel afterwards. The beach is a short tricycle ride away. We booked tours through the hotel. They cost the same as elsewhere, but the tour operators they partner with were excellent. Pickup was from the hotel; you just need to arrange your own trip back.

We booked Tour A at reception and really liked it. The boat was a big one rather than an outrigger, and the price matched the tour shops. The buffet breakfast was good, the small pool looks out over the bay, and the Wi-Fi worked most of the time. The hotel itself was typical, but clean and comfortable. At check-in they ask for a 5000 peso deposit. Pay in cash if you can. We used a card and they charged it instead of putting a hold on it, then spent half an hour trying to work out the refund at checkout. In the end they paid us in cash because they didn’t know what else to do. Their airport transfer is very expensive too. A street taxi tuk tuk was only 300.
