That view over the beach is lovely, but it was the only part of the stay I really liked. Getting to the hotel is a hassle: the tricycle leaves you by McDonald’s in front of the mall, then you have to haul your bags through the mall and across a long stretch of sand. With heavy luggage, that’s especially frustrating. The room felt bare and poorly cared for, and the floor hadn’t been cleaned properly. Check-in is fixed at 2:00 PM, with no flexibility. They replace towels only every other day, supposedly for environmental reasons, but it came across more like a way to cut costs. An extra towel costs 100 pesos, which seems unreasonable. The access, cleanliness, and extra charges made this disappointing, and I wouldn’t stay here again.

The view from room 233 was phenomenal and made the stay worthwhile. I was there for two nights, and the bed was comfortable and the room clean. Breakfast wasn’t included in my booking, but a decent buffet was available for 300 pesos. As with several hotels nearby, there’s no easy road access, so you have to walk along the beach to get here. They do have a porter who’s happy to carry your luggage. The one thing that bothered me was that they only accept cash.

The staff were nice, and the food tasted good, but the buffet was nearly empty when we arrived around 7:15 pm and they never replenished it. We mostly ate rice with a little of the other food, so it wasn’t possible to eat as much as you’d expect from a buffet. There were grilled skewers too, but lots of people were waiting for the barbecue man to put them out, so you had to compete for them. It was a dinner buffet on the beach for 500 pesos, with as much as you wanted in theory. If it’s advertised as a buffet, there should be food for all the guests. At least there wasn’t food left over at the end of the day.

The location is pretty nice, and depending on your room you can wake up to an amazing view. We contacted the hotel in advance about luggage, so getting there from the mall across the beach didn’t bother us. Our room in the main building was okay, though clearly run down. The keyhole was missing and the deteriorated floor had tiny particles that could splinter you, in my opinion a safety hazard. I sprained my ankle on the last stair at ground level, where a big ditch had been covered with carpet. It hurt for two days. I told them right away because I was in so much pain, but nobody offered ice or seemed to care, even though I was limping. They later filled the hole with rocks, which felt like a temporary patch, not a real fix. It’s especially dangerous for elderly guests. I’m younger and recovered quickly, luckily. The place felt run down with several hazards. I didn’t try the food because I’d seen comments about food poisoning, and when I tried to order coffee they said they had none. Staff could use some training too. When I asked for suggestions, one person just said she didn’t know because she was new, lol.

The beachside dinner buffet was 499 pesos per person, with unlimited beer, lemon water, or iced tea, and I thought it was great value. You can pay by credit card. There were two kinds of clams, chicken, pork, two kinds of grilled fish, plus rice, vegetables, and fruit. Add the live music and seaside view, and it made a marvelous evening. Thanks, I’d be happy to come back anytime!
