The beach location is the standout here. Seven Commander Beach is one of the most special spots in El Nido, and from our room, the bar, and the balcony we could enjoy the beach and sunsets. We got some memorable pictures too. My wife and I stayed two nights during our longer Philippines trip for our honeymoon. The resort has just six rooms, so the experience feels tailored to a small number of guests. It’s a cute boutique place, but you shouldn’t expect the facilities of a large resort. They arranged a romantic dinner on the beach for us at no charge, including a mattress to lie on and watch the stars. I think other resorts we stayed at would have charged at least $200 for that. It’s offered as a complimentary setup for the first or last night, but check with them before arriving to confirm they’ll do it for you. Mat and Iko at the bar deserve a special mention. They went out of their way for our requests, including cocktails and food that weren’t on the menu. Daisy, Leah, Jed at the front desk, and the owner who lives on site were also quick to answer our questions and make sure our stay had pleasant surprises. I’d come back, though probably for just a couple of days, since there’s so much else to explore in El Nido and the Philippines. The dining and bar experience also shouldn’t be measured against a much larger hotel.

What made the stay for me was the staff. They greeted us with waves as soon as we arrived, and the whole experience felt personal. Everyone paid attention to the little things and was glad to help with whatever we needed. They even arranged two lovely candlelit dinners for us on the beach. Bambi was especially funny and sweet. The room had incredible views, and every meal we had was delicious. This is the best resort I’ve ever stayed in.

Our waiter Rich made the evening feel personal and easygoing. He was friendly, attentive, and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The views were unreal, especially at sunset, when it felt like being in a film. We were celebrating life, and this private dinner on a private beach in El Nido was a perfect way to do it. The boat picked us up right on time, and from then on everything felt special. It exceeded all our expectations. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting El Nido who wants a memorable treat.

The chef deserves a big thank you. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made, and the food really added to the stay. More than the service itself, it was the thoughtful, personal way the team cared for us that stood out. We left with lovely memories and a deep appreciation for everyone’s kindness. We spent five nights at Vellago Resort in El Nido, and from the moment we arrived, the whole team made us feel welcome. Daisy, Leah, Marty, and Ico all went above and beyond. Their warmth and genuine kindness felt like Filipino hospitality at its best. They made us feel like family, which meant a lot to us. Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat.
