Villas Sampaguita

Villa Sampaguita was our peaceful haven away from busy El Nido. It’s just outside town in the Caalan area, where you can also find food, drinks, and anything you might need. The beachfront road takes about 12 minutes to walk into El Nido. The owners were very kind and helped with everything. The villa is beautifully decorated and set up. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom felt luxurious. We had no bugs, plus air conditioning, a hot shower, cooking facilities, and a water dispenser. Laundry and taxi services are available for an extra charge.

The villa was lovely, quiet, and well cared for, with a traditional Filipino feel. What really made our stay in El Nido special was Janeth and Marco. They were so kind and attentive, even leaving umbrellas outside when it rained. Marco also made sure we got to the airport on time. Thanks for making it feel like home, Tito Marco and Tita Janeth. We loved it and will be back.

The hosts were lovely, and they can arrange private tours. We stayed four nights and had a great time. Our clean, nicely decorated villa was just outside town. We chose one without a pool, which worked well because it had a proper kitchen and living room, though a pool would have been nice in the heat. Finding the place after dark was a bit tricky. The directions could be clearer. The lane is to the right of the souvenir shop, and the shop staff can ask the host to meet you, as they did for us. We’d recommend staying here.

The pool was perfect, the AC was a lifesaver, and the outdoor lounge had such a nice feel. We loved the view and had a great stay. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, and we didn’t see any bugs. Marco was a sweetheart. He kept us supplied with clean towels, drinking water, and toilet paper, and he and his wife could wash clothes for a fee. We booked an island hopping tour through him, and he drove four of us to the airport for 1200php total. The kitchen had a fridge, stove, utensils, and a jug of purified cold water. The toaster oven was broken during our stay, though I’m sure it’ll be fixed. There’s no parking at the house because you have to walk up stairs. We parked our motorbikes a little way down the hill, but there probably isn’t room for full-size cars.
