Dawn Patrol Hostel

Wendy made us feel welcome from the start, greeting our group of six by name and always taking time to answer our questions. She helped us rent motorbikes, find places to eat, and arrange airport transport both ways. Dawn Patrol was a great place for our final four nights in the Philippines. It's close to the beach and surrounded by a good range of cafes and restaurants. We'd all come back if we visit Siargao again.

Wendy and her daughters were the best part, so warm and welcoming that the place felt like home. The beds were comfy, and the facilities were clean and well looked after. Best hostel I've stayed in for a long time. Can't wait to come back!

It felt more like staying with a local family than at a hotel. The hosts were friendly: the boss, her two lovely daughters, and the dog-racist who guards the property from strangers. The hostess quickly brought another bed to our room when we checked in, boiled water for tea ceremonies, gave us recommendations, and even provided first aid. The property itself is quiet, a lovely place to relax away from the crowds. Cloud 9 and Ocean 9 are about 5-10 minutes away by bike. You can work in the lobby or visit the cafe across the street. There's high-speed Wi-Fi, free drinking water, billiards, and parking. Guests can use the hostess's kitchen and leave groceries in the fridge. Each room, including the hostel room, has its own toilet and shower, and there are additional showers and toilets on site. Highly recommend visiting!

A room at a neighboring hotel had been booked for me, but it turned out to have no availability. After three flights, I was looking for somewhere else late in the evening and found this place nearby. It turned out to be a little home paradise. The hostess had the room ready and helped me with everything, taking care of me like her own daughter. That kind of hospitality really touched me. The room was great and had what I needed, and the air conditioner worked perfectly. The internet can be unstable, though that's common across the island. For work, you can use Paddle and Palms, where the internet is good.
