I liked my last stay so much that I’ve already decided to come back on my next visit, when I’m planning to get married. We’re also going to use Malachi resort for the reception. The staff are friendly and speak English, which made things easy for travelers. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, there are two pools, and the food is awesome. I don’t often give five stars, but this place earned them from me.
The room rate felt high for what you get: basic beds, thin sheets, a closet, and a TV. I did like that the toilet and bath were separate. In our room, the door was smaller than the frame, so the hotel had fitted a piece of wood to make it work. There’s no breakfast or restaurant at the hotel, but it’s close to the town center. A trike costs 10 pesos per passenger. The pool is okay, and you can bring your own food. Events are fine too, though each extra hour costs 2k pesos.
The menu looks large, but the choices are limited since most dishes are for groups of 4 or 6. If you find something you like, you’d better be very hungry. Food came out at different times, so I’d finished before my wife’s dish even arrived. They didn’t seem to get that a burger and its chips should come together. Some staff struggled with English, but they tried their best.
I won’t go back. The restaurant charged us double for some items compared with what we ordered and ate. Maybe it was an honest mistake, but it happened, and now I don’t trust their billing system.
