Asog County Hotel

I wouldn't recommend staying here or come back, unless my car broke down right outside and I needed somewhere for the night. There’s nothing to do around the property, which sits right by a highway. The bed pillow had a small live cockroach on it. The bathroom looked clean, though it was a little dingy. Breakfast was nicely presented, but felt like a kid's meal: corned beef with potatoes, scrambled egg, and rice. You get what you pay for.

The food and rooms were both a full 10 out of 10. WiFi got slow now and then, but luckily Globe had a good signal too.

The main reason I picked this place was the price. I paid under $100 for a room with two beds and stayed four days and three nights, which worked out well for a budget trip. Iriga Plaza Hotel was being renovated at the time, so I stayed here instead. The staff were friendly and tried to help with my requests. Getting downtown takes about 20 minutes by tricycle, so the location isn't especially convenient. I didn't take photos of the hotel or room; the cost gives you a fair idea of the accommodation and service. It's a basic place, and you have to be okay with missing amenities and services.

For 1,800, the single room didn't feel worth the rate. There was no WiFi or bottled water, and the room was dusty, with lots of webs and lizard droppings everywhere. Termites had infested the ceiling. The parking felt rocky and unsafe. The woman at reception also kept frowning and wasn't friendly. At another budget hotel, 1,500 is more than enough.
