Red Picnic Hostel

The main letdown for me was the food and service. We ordered the same breakfast throughout our stay, but the price kept going up and we had to ask why. On our last morning I finally ordered the banana split shown in the menu photo, but what arrived was just a banana cut in half with banana ice cream, nothing like the picture. The food felt expensive for what it was and could disappoint, so I wouldn’t recommend it. As for the rooms, we spent three nights in an eight-person shared room and one in a private en suite. Both were clean and nice. The shared room was fine, with no real complaints; the private room was spacious and had a warm shower. The en suite toilet smelled odd at first, probably because of some of the people we had shared with earlier. I mostly used the communal toilets and showers downstairs. The communal and shared showers were cold, but in this sweltering heat it didn’t bother me. The pool was clean, and staff were friendly and helpful. You can rent mopeds there, which is handy. I’d recommend staying here to other travelers, just not eating here. Honestly, it’s an okay hostel or hotel. Coming from hospitality, I see friendly, helpful staff as the bare minimum.
