The Guest House Laoag

The small room is okay and the price is low, but the air conditioning is really loud. There's no hot shower, soap, or toilet paper, and even tea and coffee bags cost extra. Dogs bark through the night, roosters start at dawn, and they play loud music at reception early in the morning. I'd spend a little more for basic comfort instead of having to keep going back to ask for everything.

A quiet, tucked-away place for tourists and other travelers. Our room was clean and comfortable, and better than a typical room. Breakfast and coffee are available if requested. The roads to the property were under construction when we visited, so I hope it's easier to get to next time and that some amenities have improved. Three stars.

Breakfast was included, and the room was clean, but the staff weren't as friendly as the ones at Pagudpud. We had a small “couple’s” room with a cramped bathroom. The sink drained slowly, so every few seconds we had to turn off the faucet and wait for the water to go down. There was little space for luggage and nowhere to hang wet towels. The window looked onto the neighbors' side yard. It was very quiet except for a few dogs barking briefly.

The Guesthouse was a pleasant stay, with clean grounds, a welcoming feel, and roomy rooms that had most of what guests need. Towels were provided, but toiletries weren't, and the showers worked without hot water. The AC worked well and was easy to control, while cable TV and free wifi were available. Wifi could be fast at some times and slow at others. Breakfast was free, but there were no other meals; we could order food through Food Panda. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the owner greeted guests warmly when she came by. The main access issue is the tall building, which has no elevator or wheelchair ramps. That could be hard for seniors or people with injuries or disabilities. Maybe guests traveling with them could get lower-floor rooms. We were moved here by our travel agency after complaining about the many issues and awful service at Our Vessel. The Guesthouse was a level up from Our Vessel, and our stay here was pleasant.
