Viven Hotel is our usual place to stay in Ilocos Norte, whether we’re there for one day or a few nights. It’s handy for shopping and meals, right across from Robinsons Mall San Nicolas and around 2 km from SM City Laoag. We tend to get a Double Deluxe room for our family of four, two adults and two kids. It’s roomy enough, though it’s officially for two guests, and we paid an extra fee for our 10-year-old daughter. The beds are firm but comfortable, and the pillows help make for a good night’s sleep. The bathroom is compact and practical, with strong water pressure and a steady hot shower. The air-conditioning works, but takes some time to cool the room, so we turn it on early. We had a frustrating payment problem during our December 2025 stay. I paid by debit card, and even though the terminal showed the transaction as reversed, the money still came out of my account. I paid cash instead and had to work with my bank to get the charge reversed. That process will take a couple of months, and I hope the hotel can prevent this happening again. We’re still comfortable staying at Viven Hotel because it’s clean, conveniently located, and easy for us. Stayed with family, December 2025.

It’s a decent place, and the location is especially useful. Robinsons Laoag is right across the road, so restaurants and other food options are easy to reach. It’s also about 2 km from the Ilocos Norte Provincial Capitol and 7.2 km from Laoag International Airport, which makes getting around practical.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the restaurant on site was courteous every time and served great food. It’s also hard to beat how close the place is to Laoag, especially Robinson's. There was construction or remodeling while I stayed, and it was noisy the whole time. They also went through my trash after I checked out, which felt pretty weird. It could be a great stay with some work still needed. For the price, I’d come back, but just for a few days.

Getting around is easy from here. It’s near major roads, good local restaurants and nearby carenderias, with a robinsons mall right across the street if you want chain restaurants. The worst part of my trip was the water. The hotel uses a centralized heater, but we barely got hot water in our room. The pool was also closed indefinitely, and breakfast wasn’t a buffet and was subpar.

Being right across from the mall was really convenient, and there are plenty of small nearby restaurants with good, cheap food. The room was fairly comfortable, but the CR wasn’t for me. The shower wasn’t heated, and the floor didn’t feel clean. We got to Ilocos early in the morning and paid an extra 1200 pesos for early check-in. There was construction during our stay, so it got a bit noisy. We also tried the restaurant, but the food was just okay, nothing special.
