Be Resorts - Mactan

The SALT restaurant staff were a bright spot. They greeted people with warm smiles and such positive energy that the place felt more comfortable. At the front desk, though, we felt let down. The staff didn’t seem very welcoming or approachable, and our concerns didn’t get much attention. Help was slow, and the interaction could have been friendlier and more professional. We expected better service that would make guests feel valued.

Randy at the Deck Bar is one to watch as a mixologist. His drinks had flair and flavour, and everyone at the bar and restaurant was accommodating with meals and off-menu drinks. They were polite without fussing over us. Even in the wet season, the skies cleared and we got a relaxing dip in the pool. The ocean was accessible, though the sand was very coarse and the water cooler than the pool. I appreciated the hospitality, the views, the food and drinks, and the staff’s humility. Thanks, everyone.

The pool and beach were clean, and the staff and lifeguards were welcoming and helpful. We also enjoyed sitting at the bar at night, where the bartenders were fun to talk to. The resort food was exceptional, though it may feel pricey to some. We stayed 5 Days and 4 nights. Check-in went smoothly, and even though they were strict about the 3PM check-in time, they accommodated our room requests. The room was clean with nice lighting, a little cramped but still spacious enough. I had a wonderful stay at Be Resort and would recommend it even with the bad reviews. Everyone’s experience is different, and I found plenty to like here. It’s an underrated resort that deserves your time.

The rooms were large, the beds comfortable, and there was plenty of drinking water for guests. Our rooms, 527 and 525, had lovely views. At Salt, where we often went for breakfast and cocktails, we usually sat outside, and Rey was always friendly and helpful. We first stayed for a night, then came back for two nights and a late checkout on the third day. Our friends had stayed here two years earlier on a recommendation and were happy, so they returned with us. The pool was closed during our stay, but that didn’t bother us. There’s also a large netted-off swimming area off the beach, with towels provided. One morning they ran out of milk, which left quite a few diners disgruntled. I’d happily stay again when passing through Cebu.
