Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort

We went for day use, and the beach wasn’t as clean as I’d expected. The lunch buffet was in a huge area but had very limited choices, with lots of flies around the food. The dress code for the lunch area was also very strict. They could do better.

The beachfront rooms were large, with very spacious bathrooms, and were easily the best part of our stay. But the service fell short. In the afternoon only one bar was open, the beers were warm, and we often had to hunt for staff to order. Events outside our room were frequently noisy, and when they were on, all the pools filled up and there was nowhere to sit. There aren’t enough loungers, which seems worse with so many day-pass guests. It’s frustrating that more visitors are allowed in when even overnight guests can’t find a seat. The rooms are beautiful, but the service and seating were disappointing for the price.

We had a lovely view of the beach and bay from our comfortable, spacious room. The Oyster Bar was a highlight too, serving lovely cocktails and snacks from an idyllic nipa hut. The restaurants were excellent and everything was very reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the customer service was exemplary. The resort exceeded my expectations, and I’d highly recommend a holiday here.

The little details made a difference, like umbrellas placed around the resort so you could get around comfortably when it rained. The staff were so warm and caring, greeting us with smiles and making us feel special. A shoutout to the taho guy, who remembered exactly how I liked mine for all five days. The bar had great cocktails and happy hours, and Tingmay was a passionate, friendly mixologist who made drinks you could taste the care in. This stay felt like an experience, and I can’t wait to return.
