Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort

The hotel is beautiful, and our large room was clean and ready early. We also found Grab easy to get for trips out, so don’t be put off by the hotel’s location. There’s a private beach, and the area felt safe enough. The free Dusit Thani membership gives discounts on treatments, soft drinks, and food. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone welcomed us with a smile each day, and so many people around the hotel gave great service. Thanks to James and Tracey at the lobby bar for the cocktails, Joshua for making our stay personal, Heroshi for the charm and delight, and Mark for helping with my hangover and being such fun. Envan, sorry if I’ve got the spelling wrong, was very supportive when we arrived. These are just a few names, the whole team was amazing. Thanks to all of you.

There were too many little things that fell short of five-star standards. The elevators and other areas had a strong mold smell, the pool was quite dirty and smelled strongly of chlorine, and the restaurant and bar prices didn’t match the service we received. On day two, half the breakfast restaurant was closed because water was dripping from the ceiling. The open area had puddles and wet-floor signs everywhere, and water even dripped onto our breakfast table. Service was still slow: our omelet took 15 minutes, even after we asked again. The gym was worn out, with no fresh air, disinfectant, or paper towels. Breakfast looked nice, but there wasn’t much fruit. Coffee took about 20 minutes and only came quickly after we asked again. The same thing happened with the crêpes, which arrived half-baked. The yogurt and chia pudding came in such tiny glasses that a teaspoon wouldn’t fit, and you’d need about five glasses for one portion of yogurt. At the Thai restaurant, dinner started well, but we had to ask for the welcome drink and still didn’t get one. Around 10 minutes after ordering, we were told a dish wasn’t available, and this happened repeatedly, much like the drink problems earlier. The appetizer came before the main course, but my salad was missing and arrived almost an hour later. We got a 15% discount for the long wait. At the pool restaurant, the coconut shake and calamansi juice weren’t available either. The mango shake was mostly crushed ice until they added more mango after we complained. The staff were friendly, at least. The pool on our first day felt more like a kindergarten than a five-star hotel, with school groups of around 50-100 children there both morning and afternoon. Check-in took about 15 minutes in line. We had booked two double beds, but were first offered two single beds. After we complained, they gave us a king-size bed, which was acceptable. The floor in our room hadn’t been vacuumed properly. It was only cleaned the next day after we complained three times, once in the morning, again in the afternoon, and then to management an hour later.

JM’s professionalism, warm manner, and genuine care made us feel valued and well looked after. His hospitality and leadership really showed the hotel’s high standards. The whole team was courteous, attentive, and ready to help with a smile. The facilities are beautiful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere felt relaxing and luxurious. Our stay at Dusit Thani exceeded our expectations from arrival through checkout. Thanks for making it so memorable and enjoyable. We’ll definitely come back and recommend Dusit Thani to our family and friends.

For my first solo trip, Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort was a perfect choice. Roly made the dinner buffet easy and enjoyable by accommodating me so well. The resort has beautiful beachfront views, a relaxing feel, and well-maintained facilities. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, attentive, and welcoming. I felt comfortable and well looked after throughout the stay. It was an unforgettable first trip, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place.
